SQUEELER SCORES AGAIN AT HAMILTON. Defeats Best Sprinters There for his New Owner Sea Beach Wins and Is Bid Up. Hamilton, Out., June 30. Squeeler, running in the interests of his new owner D. A. OMeara for the first time, scored a victory in todays feature race at Hamilton, the Wentworth Handicap, in which he beat some of the best sprinters on the grounds. Squeeler was ridden by S. Wolstenholm, outran the others from the start and won all the way. A. N. Akin, favorite for the race, was second and Water Lad third. The attendance was again large and speculation brisk. Sea Beach, winner of the third race, was bid up to ,405 by Sam Louis, an advance of 1916.sh05 over his entered price. He was retained by his owner. The sprinter Yorkville has been turned over to E. J. Crawford, who will ship him to Empire City with his other horses. Theo. Cook who is cntcrested with noward Oots in the ownership of the band of imported two-year-olds racing in Oots name and N. Macfarlanc of Montreal were visitors this afternoon. Edward McBride, the Maryland turfman who developed the good colt George Smith, has retired from racing for the present year. He disposed of his entire stable this morning, at private sale, to D. A. OMeara of Quebec- The sale includes the transfer of the following horses: Squeeler, Pesky, Tom Elward, Eddie Henry, Olyn G., Bella II. and Wizard. They have been turned over to II. G. Bed-well, who will train them for their new owner. McBride plans to leave for New York tomorrow to attend the yearlings sales. He will purchase several youngsters, which will be turned over to T. J. Shannon to develop. W. O. Parmer left for his homo in Tennessee last night to arrange for . the shipment of the Edenwold yearlings to Saratoga, where they will be sold. . . Capt. W. F. Presgrave has decided to ship his horses from here to Windsor. Included in the shipment is the big string he is training for Lieut. J. K. L. Ross. Mrs. L. A. Livingston has decided to remain at Hamilton with her big string until the return of the races here. Many of the horses in her stable have been coughing, but it is expected that all will be in good condition by the time the July meeting at Hamilton begins. Harry Giddings will also remain here with his string. Matt Smart is another horseman who will remain here. His string is made up entirely of jumpers and, as there no steeplechases at Fort Erie or Windsor, it would be useless for him to ship to either of those places. Sol Mintz has taken over the horses owned by C. A. Crew and will train them in the future. J. F. Clark, Crews former trainer, has decided to take out a steeeplechasc jockeys license again and will resume rifling. Charles Penn of Dallas, Texas, is a visitor here, attending the races. Ren Beach, who left for Saratoga several days ago to attend the funeral of his father, returned yesterday.
