Cincinnati, O., .Inly 0. Jefferson Livingston accounted for botli the feature races carried at Latouia this afternoon with Alriebaran and Othello. Jtoth were ridden by Goose and won with consummate ease over good opposition. Alriebarnns success came in the mile and an eighth handicap for which The Grader was a pronounced favorite. The latter ran disappointingly and was thoroughly beaten before the stretch turn was readied. Al-riebaran showing his best form raced into the lead at once and maintained his advantage to the finish, "apt. Hecs was his nearest pursuer and held on well in the stretch. Othellos victory was even more easily achieved than that of Ahlebaran, for he led bv a wide margin after tin; barrier arose, lie was luekv to be clear of the jam that came immediately after the release of the barrier and which gave Kinney much the worst of it. Todays card was a fairly good offering and served to bring out another big crowd. The weather was ideal for the sport and action in the ring was spirited. The small fields in five of the races served as excellent mediums for heavy speculation. The sport was interesting, witii several of the finishes dose. Fourteen maidens ran in the opener and it resulted in a victory for W. II. Lauricmans Cynthia Dwyer, which outganied Ieep o Dawn in the final drive. Fourteen ordinary ones contested the second race and it developed n victory for Langhorne over the favorite, M. Bert Thurman. Auriga was the choice for the fiftii race and she moved into a long lead when Mary Belle and Bourbon Lass came just wide enough around the turn to let her through, l.ourbon Lass, under a mild drive, outstayed the fast coining Kagura for second place. William II. Shelley, who will serve as clerk of the scales anil associate judge at Hawthorne, arranged today witli the valets employed at Latonia to go to Chicago and serve as valets there. John W. Schorr announced today that Did: Williams would be shipped to Chicago to start in the American Derby, which will be run July 15, the opening day of the Hawthorne meeting. Kri Crump has been entered for the Illinois Jockey Club Hold Cup and may be a starter for it. Mr. Schorr today made an addition to his stable by the purchase of lort Light from J. M. Henry, Jr., for a reported price of ,200. II. I. Brown, general manager of the Havana track, returned this morning after a brief visit to New York and Atlantic City. W. J. Weber and K. Kpcnee contemplate sending Hodge, Hed Cloud, Commauretta and several others to Louisville to rest until the Kentucky fall racing begins. The others in this stable will be shipped to Chicago. George J. Longs dozen racers, in charge of trainer Pete Coyne, will be shipped to Saratoga July 17. Calhiher Bros. stable will be shipped to Chicago next Tuesday. Jockey W. Andress will accompany the stable. Folyowing the running of the fifth race, in which Itourbon Lass showed improved form over her last race, the stewards had trainer J. O. Oallnher before them to explain her inconsistent running. Jockey Andress, who rode Itourbon Lass, was suspended for the rest of the meeting by the starter for disobedience at the post.
