ALL HEADING FOR HAWTHORNE TODAY. Track in Excellent Condition More Stake Nominations Received Rates of Admission. With tho close of the Kentucky racing season last night the shipment of horses began for the thirteen days race meeting at Hawthorn under the Illinois Jockey Club auspices. Indications point to one of the most successful meetings of like nature ever seen in Chicago and it is expected by the enthusiasts that more than 50,000 persons will attend on the day that the American Derby is brought back into favor among horsemen. Telegrams announcing shipment of several racing stables from which stake horses are entered wore received yesterday by Martin Nathanson, racing secretary, and stables have been put in readiness and assigned. The track is in good condition for a successful meeting and all that remains now is a public endorsement of racing in this state. Tho officials are doing all in their power to protect the men who have joined with them, 011 conditions that this will bo a botlcss mooting, ami it is certain now that the sport of kings will come back in Illinois as a clean sport. The following notice has boon issued by Racing Secretary Nathanson for the Illinois Jockey Club: "Due to a miscarriage of telegram dated Juno 29, tho following nominations for stakes under rules of racing: Merchants Handicap The Masquerador, Scaramouch; Gold Cup Handicap Scaramouch, Dryad; in the name of W. Stormont." C. J. Fitzgerald, who, through the courtesy of the Jockey Club, will be given leave of absence to act as presiding steward at tho Hawthorne mooting, will arrive Thursday morning. James Milton, who will bo tho starter, will leave Montreal Wednesday. Roads to the race track are being put in excellent order and by Saturday nutomohilists will have good going all the way. The distance can be made easily in half an hour from the loop. Illinois Central officials announce that the train service direct to the track will bo sufficient to handle even tho biggest of crowds. Those who elect to go by elevated and surface linos" will find the trip can bo made conveniently by paying two fares. For those who have not been advised, the Illinois Jockey Club wishes to announce! that on Derby day. the general admission charge will be , including grandstand, except that tiie box seats will be each, in addition to tho general admission charge. Tho usual charge for the paddock in addition to the general admission will bo fifty cents. Parking space charges will be one dollar for each vehicle. Each person in tallyho or car or other vehicle will also have to have an admission ticket. Applications are being received from all over the country for reservations and, given good weather, there should bo a record-breaking crowd for the revival of racing in Illinois next Saturday.
