JOCKEYS CALLED TO THE COLORS. Loudon. Eng.. July IS. The call to the colors of all able-lKidied men between the ages of IS and 41, under the new conscription act, threatens to seriously interfere with racing, the majority of the present-day jockeys being liable for service. Frank and Stanley Wootton have been on active service for some months, but the compulsory service calls out such Jockeys as Frank Rtckabv. J. Child, C. Childs, H. Jellis and Lancaster. Many jockeys have suffered from broken lnmes in carrying out their profession in the past, and only such deformities will enable them to keep in the saddle during the continuation of the war. The well known Anglo-French jockey, George Stent, offered himself for service, but has beeu rejected as being too short.
