SARATOGA SALES OF YEARLINGS. The month of August promises to be a busy one for the buyers of future racing material, as the Powers-Hunter .Company lias no less than seven sales scheduled for this mouth at Saratoga. All will be held in the paddock of the Saratoga race course, beginning with the vendue of the yearlings, tin- property of the estate of the late Herman B. Duryea. The sale of Saturday, August promises to be an important one, for on this occasion the Powers-Hunter Company will dispose of the Hamburg Place yearlings, the property of John E. Madden, and the Edeuwold yearlings, the property of Messrs. Parmer and Hendrie. On the twelfth, the Clarence II. Mackay yearlings will pass under the hammer. This will be followed by the disposal of the baby racers from the Adclbcrt Stud and other Kentucky breeding farms on August 14. On the fifteenth Dalbert Reiff will olTer thirty-five thoroughbreds imported from France. A big crop of yearlings, the property of various Kentucky breeders, will be sold on the nineteenth, while Francis J. Pons will offer his Blue Grass Farm youngsters on the twenty-fourth. The Herman B. Duryea estate and Clarence II. Mackay sales are certain to attract the greatest attention, though many horsemen profess a marked liking for the thoroughbreds John E. Madden sends to the sales market. In the Hamburg Place list will be brothers and sisters of many high-class, racers, and these yearlings are certain to attract notable offers when they are sent into the sales ring.
