Won easily; second and third driving. KATENKA began slowly and was under punishment while rounding the far turn, but gained rapidly and drew clear in the final eighth to win going away. OLD MISS set a good, pace and raced SKY into defeat, then hung on gamely and outstayed KATHRYN GRAY in the closing strides. The latter was always a forward contender and finished resolutely. SKY was under pressure from the start and, after gaining the lead, quit as if short. SPINSTER ran well. RONNIE LASSIE closed a big gap in the early running. WEIi CARTER led under restraint in the early running and, fencing in excellent fashion, withstood repeated challenges in the final half. RHOMB moved up rapidly at the fifteenth fence and made a bad landing, but came again. SANDOW fenced without a mishap and finished gamely. ADDON was eased up when beaten. PENNANT, after being saved under slight restraint in the early running, slipped through next to the rail while rounding the far turn and, taking the lead, won in a cantor. "BLIND BAGGAGE showed excellent speed and, after having raced PRINCE OF COMO into defeat, hung on gamely to the eighth post, but was tiring at the end. DELANCEY saved ground on all turns and finished resolutely. PRINCE OF COMO showed the most speed for a half and was eased up at the finish. GRUMPY finished gamely. Won ridden out; second and third driving. HIDDEN STAR followed FAVOUR closely in the early running and drew clear when called on at the eighth post, but was hard ridden to the finish. RONNIE TESS raced wide on the turns, but gained steadily in the homestretch and finished wearing the leader down. FAVOUR, away forwardly, showed the most speed for five-eighths and tired, but hung on well to the end. LIBYAN SANDS saved ground on all turns and finished gamely. QUEEN OF PARADISE finished gamely under hard pressure. NINETY SIMPLEX and AMBROSE were away forwardly, but quit badly after going three-quarters. JOCK SCOT was forced to pull up sharply on the turn out of the hackstretch, but saved ground on the last turn and, passing CRANK under mild urging in the final eighth, withstood STAR MASTERS challenge and won going away. The la tter ran greenly and was high in flesh, but closed a big gap and ran a good race. CRANK raced into the lead, but tired when the final drive came. PENROD began slowly and finished fast. FELICIDAD was cased up after setting the early pace and Overweights Star Master, 2 pounds; Pcnrod, l;Lady Clinton, 3and; Tyrant, 4; Hickorynut, 2.
