LADY SPENDTHRIFT TAKES A RACE. Montreal, Que.. August 22. The feature of the card offered this afternoon by the Back River Jockey Club for the third day of its second meeting was an event for Canadian-owned horses, which was won by Lady Spendthrift, owned by Norman Mac-farlane, a well-known local owner and breeder.
