BELMONT PARK A BEAUTIFUL SPOT. New York, August 22. Superintendent Pelz is busy making preparations for the P.elniont Park fall meeting. He has the long straightaway completely coated with light sandy loam, and he has ditched the big track all around. He says that it should be faster than ever this autumn, and he takes no little pride in saying that those who attend the coming meeting will find this beautiful park looking more attractive than at any time iu its history. The lawns have been mowed, rolled and seeded down wherever the grass had been worn off, and the luxuriant growth of vines which now conceal the old betting ring serve to greatly enhance the beauty of the approaches to the grandstand. Fresh paint has been applied wherever it was needed, and the rich, broad green hedges never presented such a beautiful picture as they do now.
