MOVEMENT FOR RACING IN MICHIGAN. Lexington. Ky.. August 30. J. A. Gibson, a prominent Detroit contractor and builder, who also is the owner of several thoroughbred horses, writing to a friend in Lexington, says that the movement for the revival of racing in Michigan and the building of a fine plant near Detroit, by the Detroit Business Mens Racing Association, is progressing splendidly and that the track will be ready by July 1, 1517. when it is planned to open a fourteen days meeting. "Everybody, it seems to me. wants the runners back in Detroit," said he. "Why send the money to Canada for our sport V Thats the question most of them are asking of one another." The officials of the Kentucky Thoroughbred Horse Association have assured Mr. Gibson of their interest in the movement to revive racing in the great state of .Michigan and the Business Mens Association will have their aid in securing horses for the meeting, if such aiil is needed. Not that the association is in any degree partial, but that it is aware that there are horses a plenty for the new track, without detracting from the racing at other tracks in Canada and elsewhere.
