Louis Feustel has turned out Defence and Star Finch for the remainder of the year. They will stay at Belmont Park, while he takes He Will and the rest of the active portion of his string to Maryland. Next week Thomas J. Henley will send R. T. Corn Tassel and Cainpfire will be turned out for the remainder of the year. A movement for the construction of a fully-equipped mile track at Paducah, Ky., is under way. If carried out it will call for another allotment of dates on the Kentucky circuit. Paducah is a thriving city of 25,000 people and can draw from St. Inis, Kvansville, Henderson and Cairo. John E. Madden has bought another Rock Sand rolt from August Belmont, which he will seiul to Kentucky for stud purposes. This is the black colt Lord Rock Vale, 3. by Rock Sand out of the great broodmare Lady Violet, by The 111 Used. While Lord Rock Vale has been a winner, it was miuiily on account of his rich breeding that Mr. Madden liought him. His dam. Lady Violet, was a daughter of Lady Rosebery. by Kingfisher, and her second lani was Lady ltlessingtoii. by Eclipse. She has been a prolific broodmare, her best son being that fast race horse, Watervale, by Watercress.
