HAVRE DE GRACE RACING MANOKIN DEFEATS SOME GOOD TWO-YEAR-OLDS IN THE FEATURE DASH. Port Light Wins for His New Owner and Is Bid Up St. Charlcote Takes His Race and Changes Owners lady Teresa in the Same Category. Haltimore, 311., September 22. A well arranged card made up of horses o the ordinary class was olTered at Havre de Grace. The nearest approach to a feature was a two-year-old handicap, in which some fairly Rood youngsters computed. II. CJ. Rcd-welis Mnnokiu displayed his best form in winning this race from Koh-i-Noor and Yankee Witch. He was well ridden by jockey Tapliu, who displayed excellent judgment in riding his mount behind the early pacemakers. He made his challenge; in the final eighth when the pacemakers tired, and rode his mount out to maintain his advantage. The finish was exceedingly close. William 1. Orrs debut as an owner became an auspicious one when Port Light accounted for the Mcond race. The victory was not a profitable one. however, for he was forced to protect tiie gelding to the extent of ,000 over his entered price of 1.500. J. V. lledrick was responsible for the bidding. Claims were entered for St. Charlcote after hi! won the third race by II. G. I.edwell and .1. AV. May. The latter obtained the gelding in the draw for 1,200. J. AV. lledrick was successful in obtaining Lady Teresa after her victory in the fourth, buying the filly for 2,500, an advance of 00 over her entered price. C. K. Moore has purchased at private sale from A. A. Shea the two-year-old filly Rlue Crass Belle. Condition books for the Laurel meeting were distributed among the horsemen today. Among todays arrivals were T. .1. Shaw, Roger McDermott and Clarence Herbert. They will remain to witness the running of the Havre de Grace Handicap tomorrow. Trainer Jerry Murphy has taken over the horses of the Carolina Stable, which includes Flare, Nashville, Scylla and Favour. The Kentucky Stable lias sold to C. O. Holland the colt Ituchauan Urady, which graduated from the maiden class yesterday. J. AV. May, who claimed St. Charlcote out of the third race, resold the gelding to Sam Louis. Flag Day. which was claimed out of the sixth race yesterday by I. M. lledrick for 050, was sold to Emil Hens at private terms. J. AV. lledrick advanced High Tide .$.".00 after lie won the sixth race, hut the horse was protected by F. K. Docter. AVork-outs today with the track fast were as follows: Air Man -Five-eighths in 1:00.
