170 CONCLUSION AT NEW ORLEANS. New Orleans, La., September 22. Following the presentation of contradictory attitudes on the part of President George A. McDiarmid and the board of directors of the Itusiness Mens Racing Association, the announcement Avas made today that further efforts at a peaceful arrangement of the race-track situation in Ncav Orleans rests entirely with the two Avarring combinations now in control. The civic authorities will sit tight on the record written by th! commission council. No simultaneous operation of the Fair Grounds and the City Park tracks will be permitted. Orderly racing, conducted Avith due regard for the provisions of the laAV, will be Avelcomed. Any demonstration of defiance of the law will be dealt Avith in accordance with the resolutions recently adopted on the suggestion of commissioner of public safety Newman. Mayor Rehrman announced this morning that the resolutions adopted by the Itusiness Mens Racing Association puts the attitude of the Fair Grounds group squarely before the public. In these resolutions the organization goes on record as refusing to recognize the City Park track and bring about peace.
