CANNOBIES JOCKEY CLUB STAKES VICTORY. The 0,000 Jockey Club Stakes was run at Newmarket, England. Thursday. It is run over the last mile and three-quarters of the Cesarewitch course. It was won by the Duke of Portlands three-year-old brown colt Cannobie, by Polymelus La Roche, carrying 112 pounds. W. Raphaels four-year-old chestnut colt Sanctum, by Santoi La Croi-sette was second, and Mr. Fairies three-year-old bay colt Kwang Su, by Cicero Galicia, finished third. Twelve horses started and among those unplaced was probably Johii Sanfords colt Nassovian, with 121 pounds up. His victory in the Princess of Wales Stakes gave him a nine-pounds penalty. There was little in his racing this year to suggest victory for Cannobie. He was unplaced in his first two races, then won the Stradishall Plate at a mile from Dark Sapphire, Forum and ten more at Newmarket, and ran second to Roskct in the Bcck-hampton Three-Year-Old Handicap of a mile at Newbury, his opposition in all cases being ordinary.
