ANOTHER SELLING RACE SUGGESTION. "Ive a suggestion to make that will stop the gyps from operating in selling races," said R. I. Williams recently. "Let every horse in the race be subject to a runup. Let the basis for purchase be the price at which he is entered, plus the purse, all bids to be sealed. Give the owner the same right to protect as is given the owner of the winner now. Jive none of the surplus to any horse, but put it all into a fund to be prorated at the close of the meeting to the owner of the winners of the selling races during the meeting. That would stop tho fellows who have engaged in a cheap brokerage in horses, and it would stop spite-work. It would make the races more interesting to the public, more profitable to the association and likewise more profitable to the owners of the -Winners." .
