ENTRIES FOR VALUABLE JUMPING RACE. Baltimore, Md., October IS. Pimlico long has been noted for steeplechasing. For the coming autumn meeting November 1 to 13 particular attention will be given to this branch of the sport, with the Manly Memorial Steeplechase on election day as the climax. The Manlv Memorial, named for the late llliam M. Manlv, for many years president of the Maryland Jockey Club, is a handicap for four-year-olds and over; by subscription of 0 each, with ,000 added, of which ,000 to the second, $."00 to the third and 50 to the fourth. Those not declared by September 15 were liable for 5 additional. Starters to pay 0. Entries closed Saturday, June 3. Weights will be announced by 5 p. in., Thursday. November 2, 1910. Distanec two miles nnd a half. The entries are sixty-eight m number, more than have ever been named for a steeplechase in this country, and comprise the best jumpers in training from the most prominent stables. They include J. In order to give this race a fitting setting the Maryland Jockey Club lias made some alterations in the course, putting the water jump in line with the first brush and changing the finish further back in the infield. This will alTord a much better view if the sepctaculiir water jump from the grandstand and insure a straighter course. Among the arrivals this week were the jumpers of L. Wood, in charge of trainer J. Howard Lewis, and those of Mr. and Mrs. F. Ambrose Clark, handled by Warren Freeman. ; ! ; , 1 .
