GOOD RACE HORSE AND SIRE DIES. D M Brunk, of Forest, Kansas, reports the death of St. Maxim, 1891, by St. Blaise Delilah, by The Ill-Used, and the good mare Louise Wood, 1899, by King Eric Rose of Lee, by Insulaire; second dam Rose of Eltham. by Marsyas. Louise Wood was the dam of Little Osage, Lasa Ja., Quartermaster, etc. St. Maxim was a stake winner of twenty-one races. He won among other races the Spring Stakes, the Pocantico Stakes, the Fourth of July Handicap, the Gotham Handicap, Shecpshead Bay Handicap and the Parkway and Brbokdale Handicaps. "He is the sire of Maxinius, Barbara Freitehie, Francesco, Dixielehe. Dark Secret, Sarah Maxim, Miss Fleischmann, Sanctum, St. Mcrrylegs, Dazio, Gallawater, Makaloff, Wheeler B., Hermoine, St. Flour, Elizabeth F., etc.
