PROFITABLE RACING OF J. S. HAWKINS COMPACT STABLE OF SIX WINNING HOPvSES 4 4. It is a fortunate owner for whom every one of his horses in racing proves able to win. .T. S. Hawkins raced six horses in 1915 and experienced the satisfaction of taking one or more races with each of them. Quite the star of the stable was the flying sprinter, Chalmers. He started in nineteen races and, besides winning six. took place money in eight more. Sonic of his battles with Bringhurst, Kathleen and others of that kind were notable in respect to speed displayed in alternating victories and defeats. His principal success was in winning the Memorial Handicap, at Douglas Park, Mav 30, the remainder of his earnings being picked up in the fat purses offered on the Kentucky tracks. Margaret N., a gcod stayer, was next to Chalmers in money won, and the two-year-old. Money, which either won or was placed in all of his races, thus justifying his name, also won well for what racing he did. The good record of the stable was: Horse. Col. and Sex. A.
