HIGHLY TOUTED SILVEY SHAPIRO WINS. Mare Runs an Excellent Race Under Good Handling — Jockey Byrne Indefinitely Suspended. Tijuana. Hex., January 12. — Silvey Bhapira, the mare that was so heavily hacked wheat last out. showed what she could do with a competent rider on her hack, when with OBrien up she beat a fast ban, of sprinters today. Andy H. used his early speed to good advantage to win the third race. Dick Benson won the second race because Pool give Mark G. a bad ride. Laura Miller showed she was the best of the two-year-old band by running a corking good three-eighths after getting away Slowly. Jockey ;.
