February 19. — The annual meeting of the hunts committee of the National Steeplechase and Hunt Assoeiation xvas held at the office of the. assoriatiai Thursday. There were present: .1. E. Davis. Iage. representing the National Steeplechase and Hunt Association. J. E. Davis xvas elerted chairman of the com -mittee for 1917. A. J. A. Pe ercanx, vice-chairman. A. .1. A. Diveraux. F. S. Von Stade. G. Bernini Ei nwirk. .1. Watson Webb and James W. Craves were appointed a committee on steeplechases for 1917. Frank J. Bryan was appointed liandicaippor for 1917 for hnat meetings. ]■. s. Von Stade and A. .1. A. Derereaax were appelated a committee on steeplerhase courses at hunt meetings. A. Henry lligginson. J. E. Davis and J. Wataoa Webb were appointed a committee to confer with the masters of Fox Hounds Assoeiation in reference to the registration of territory by recognized hunts. A resolution xvas adapted request ing those in charge of hunt meetings to frame conditions for all steeplechases so that the minimum xveight carried be 140 pounds both in hunters and open steeplechases, this to apply to all steeplechasing, including handicaps. It xvas also resolved that a request be made that at bast one steeplechase at each meeting ha at a distance of three miles or over. Meetings Sanctioned for 1917.
