JOSEPH A. MURPHY MUCH IN DEMAND. St. Louis. Mo.. March S. Joseph A. Murphy, who has returntd here from New Orleans, yesterday received a letter from kfaaaii r s. J. Davis of the Essex Park Jockey Club of Hot Van-lags, Ark.. Baking him to accept the position of presiding judge for the meeting, spaaing March 30. Mr. Murphy wrote that his personal affairs were taking so miuli of his time, that he would accept only under condition that the Hot Springs position weald not interfere with them. Ha also received a letter from James Coffroth, manager of tin- Tijuana track, asking him to ac-eept a position there. He declined for the same cause.
