HORSE BREEDING IN SASKATCHEWAN. In Saskatchewan all stallions and jacks, whether pure-breii. trade, cross -bred or â– crab, must be en-relied with the Department of Agriculture before the first day of May in any year before they can legally staiel or travel for Ml lie. Certificates for pure-breds are issued at 32, and for grades, crossbred* and scrubs at each. Since the posing of the new act in August 1912, till December :n list. a total of 4,991 stallions have been enrolled with the department, made ap of l,9Sbj pare-breda end 1.410 grades, cross breds and senilis. In other words, practically seventy two per cool of all the horses earaUea] are registered boraaa. The following shows the nrollmeut if purebred*: Clydesdale, 2,149; Percbeian, 809; Belgian draft. 141; Shire, 74; Suffolk Punch, 4m standard brad, -uti; Hackney, : :. thoroughbred, .J; couch horses, 11; miiccllaucous, 13.
