TWELVE -YEAR -OLD GIRL RIDES HORSES. During the Windsor. England, race meeting the unusual sight was observed of a young girl riding a horse around the paddock before a race. She was Miss E. lringle and. though only twelve years of age, appeared to be quite at home in her surroundings. It appears that she is fond of horsi ■ and, as than is now a real shortage of lads, she regularly exercises some of tiie horses in her fathers kk-cpiiig. Regarding the racing at Windsor, a fine finish was seen in the Jubilee Hurdle race, which brought out the excellent field of seventeen. The wagering showed thut Water Bed and Drumlanrig were virtually equal favorites and that the public opinion was correct, the result showed, the pair having n great struggle, which ended in favor of Drumlanrig by a bond. The Lancashire Steeplechase was another big race on the concluding day, the entries including such noted chasers as Ally Sloper. Irish Mail, Lord Marcus and Father Confessor. Yictory went elsewhere, however, Lord Lonsdales Captain Dreyfus proving the best of the baud and wluning easily, while the much-fancied Irish Mail was quite out of it.
