PREPARATIONS FOR PIMLICO MEETING. A. K. Macomber Will Have Small but Select String on Hand for Opening Next Tuesday. Baltimore. Md.. April 24.— A. K. Macomber will send a small but sestet consignment of his big stable to Pimlico for the spring meeting, opening next Tuesday. A sjiooial horse car is being fitted up for the trip from Kentucky, and an attempt, w ill he made to capture the Juvenile. Preakncss and Pimlico Spring Handicap, for which liberal entries have been made. The Montreal turfman J. K. L. Ross has nin"teen bsraes at Masttce in charge of William Hayward. The Toddington three-year-old Cadillac looks will. The same can be said of Imde Kryn and Damrosch. nominated for the Pimlico Spring Handicap. There are eight two-year-olds by Stanhope IK. Howling Break, Dalhousie and Kryn Mawr. also the seven-year-old gelding Sixty-Four, that will l«e sent over the jumps. Sixty-Four won three steeplechases at Pimlico last fall for J. Howard Lewis, who sold him at the dose of the meeting to the late Capt. W. F. Presgrave for Mr. Ross. Capt. E. K. Cassatt will be at the races at Pimlico with nine home-breds. of which six are two-year-olds, the get of Aeronaut and Don de Oro. The older horses are Garbage. Kuckboard and Cachet. They will lie stabled in their old quarters. Nearly 200 Jumpers Available. The steeplechase course has lioon rolled and fresh brush has lieen put in the jumps. The schooling course has been used for several days, many of the chasers retell lag try-outs. There will be nearly 200 junipers on hand. and. as usual, the daily steeplechase will be the features of the meeting. Among the owners and trainers that have arrived or are due shortly are F. R. Hitchcock, H. W. Sage, T. Hitchcock. Gifford A. Cochran. Congressman G. W. Loft, W. P. Burcli. Kobort L. Gerry, Kal Parr, Edward M. Weld. J. Temple Gwathmey, Maj. W. M. Roberts. C. S. A.; J. E. Widcner. George Willing, K. Tuckerman. Jr., W. II. Henry, K. Fcustel. G. B. Fciiwick. ffjea Riddle Farm. J. K. L. Koss, Jerry Murphy, James Arthur, Edward F. Whitney, N. liyer, A. J. Devereau and W. A. Prime. The stable of Mrs. S. McNaughton is on the grounds with five two-year-olds and as many three-year-olds, all of which will race at the Pimlico meeting. The historic Woodlawn Vase, which, after being uncontested for since 1904, but which will go to the winner of the Preakness Stakes at Pimlico this spring, is on display in the window of a Baltimore street jewelry store and has attracted marked attention. The Maryland members of the Thoroughbred Horse Association will hold a meeting at the Suburban during the first week of the Pimlico meeting. The horsemen are working in accord with the various Maryland Jockey Clubs, and matters are moving along smoothly. The one or two small requests made by the horsemen have been readily granted by the different clubs.
