WILL NOT INTERFERE WITH RACING. Only Bill Now Before Canadian Parliament Is That Introduced Lat January. Ottawa. Out.. April U7. -From all present indications, there is a scant possibility, indeed, that racing will be interfered with by legislative measures from the Federal House this season. The only raciag bill at pros, nt before Parliament is one ini reduced after the House met in January, I y Oliver Wilcox, member for North Essex, in the form of an amendment to the criminal code. Tiie government has not given notic of any Backet legislation to date, and in th" absence from the capital of Hon. c. j. Dauerty, it is kaaaasdhle to ascertain whether or not it is aaanmaai to do so. The Wilcox bill was introduced early iu the session. Mr. Wil-ox proposes to limit racing to fourteen days in an one racing district. He aims more particularly at racing conditions at Windsor. Out.. where a number of old racing charters have been revised. As each is allowed two seven-day moct;s, this means practically continuous racing. It is proposed to refer the Wilcox bill to a special committee, but this has not yet been done by Parliament, which gave the bill a first rending before the adjournment in February. The bill will probably corns up for a second reading late this week, when it will, in all probability, go to « special committee.
