LOOKING OVER NEW TRACK PROSPECTS. New Orleans, La., April 27.— C. D. Bryant, principal owner of the Powie race track in Maryland, is in New Orleans on a short visit, to look over the Jefferson race track proposition. Mr. Pryant has just returned from Florida, where he has been looking after some land he owns. Promoters of the Jefferson Fair Association invited Mr. Pryant here to discuss plans for the erection of a race track, which their association contemplates at Shrewsbury, In the h i e of in-interesting him financially. Mr. Pryant was interested in the construction of nearly every track iu Maryland. Incidentally President Leo A. Marrero of the Jefferson Fair Association, reports more than half of the 25,000 capital stock signed for. and the promoters hope to break ground witliiu tiie next few days. Thoroughbred racing, according to Mr. Bryant, has been worked to the highest plane in Maryland, and lie is pleased to see it reestablished here.
