PARI-MUTUEL BETTING MAY BE ALLOWED. Milwaukee. Wis., May 9; — Betting on horse races will lie revived in Wisconsin, if a bill offered by Assemblyman Delbtrt Miller, Milwaukee County, is enacted into a law by the legislature. The bill, which is scheduled for hearing Thursday before the assembly committee on commerce and manufactures, provides that the department of agriculture or the managing board of any fair association may sell combinations or mutuels on the races at the fair held by such department or such association, as the case may be, during the days the fair is held by means of the pari-inutuel system of registration, and may retain at least five per cent of all sack pools as a fee or commission, the sale of such pools j shall in no way affect the payment of prises to any such fair association.
