WINDSORS BEST MEETING. ALL INDICATIONS POINT TO EVEN GREATER RACING THAN LAST YEAR. Everything Ready for Saturdays Opening Grand Contest Looked for in Frontier Handicap Stableroom at a Premium. Detroit, Mich., July 12 The meeting which opens at "Windsor Saturday gives promise of even surpassing the record-hreaking one of last year, according to the class of horses already at the track. Several stables from Kentucky are here, more than ever raced at the mid-summer meeting. Among the owners here T. P. Hayes. Eome liespess, Gallaher Bros.. J. C. Milam, E. It. Bradley, J. S. Ward, W. "Walsh, G. L. Strang, Lou Marion, Ed Moore, "W. Perkins, II. I?. Gorin are already giving their horses preliminary work-outs for the big meeting. Great interest is taken by lovers of the sport in Detroit and "Windsor in the Frontier Handicap, of 0,000 added, one mile and an eighth in which such horses as Old Rosebud, Boots, Handler, Ed Crump, Dodge, Bromo, Borrow, Bayberry Candle, Hank ODay and others are eligible to start. It will be the best contest witnessed at the course in many years, is the universal opinion. Gene Elrod was a visitor from Fort Erie, and was a busy man laying out his plans to accommodate the large crowd. He spent the afternoon in company with Walter O. Parmer and George M. Hendrio looking over the well equipped, spacious ring. Samuel Palmer, who is track superintendent, has the track grounds and stables in splendid condition, :ind all lie says he needs for the meeting is, like the old darkey said: "Jess give me a little sun, and I can put my crops in." Wuyne Joplin, John Schalfer and P. Gallagher were arrivals Tuesday, and a number of owners from Grand Rapids and Fort Erie are Expected tomorrow.
