ON THEIR WAY TO THE ANNUAL SALES Over a Hundred High-Bred Yearlings Leave Lexington on One Train. Lexington,, Ky., August 0. A special train of six of the NeAv York Centrals best horse cars and a passenger coach conveying approximately 115 thoroughbred yearlings and their owners and a feAv friends of their owners, left here Saturday for Saratoga, via Cincinnati, Columbus, Cleveland, Buffalo and Albany. They are due at the Spa before; noon tomorrow: and all arc to be sold during the next two Aveeks. The largest consignment in the shipment is that of Messrs. Hal Price Headley and W. B. Miller. The. sons and daughters of Uncle and Star . Shoot and a few other sires belonging to these gentlemen, occupied three of tlie cars. In one. of the cars was E. R. Bradleys consignment of Avell-grown, well-bred youngsters from . Idle Hour Farm. Manr ager Barry Sharinou. has them in excellent condition and it is predicted that they Avill sell for good prices. In another car Sanford. C. Lyne has ten from his Larchmont Farm, Avhich he bred and owns iri partnership with his son, jockey Lucien A. Lyne, avIio now is; riding for tlie king of Spain and. had the good fortune this year to Avin the Derby in that country for his royal employer. "Pops" is expectirig these yearlings to come through as handsomely as did the. three he sold last year at Saratoga .for ,300. "They have no blemislies; are in perfect condition, arid Avill talk for themselves in that sign language of all good race horses," said he Avhile he looked1 them over just before they Avcrit aboard the car. Messrs. Carr tc Piatt Send Seventeen. Messrs. John D. Carr and Thomas Piatt sent seventeen by various, sires including Sweep, Avhich is now up in the. .pictures as a. sire of juveniles, all of Avhich is quite gratifying, to Dr. J. C. Cnrrick, John S, Barbee and others avIio set great store by that stalliori.- The star of this consigniherit probably is the brown colt by Peep oDay Veroniqiie, while the bay colt by Peep oDay The Scold isnt far behind him. There, are fpur in the consignment by Sir John Johnson and, of course; Frank J. Nolan and other dAveilers at the Sria will be on hand to see Avllat they look like as soon as they arrive. The filly, dam Wltfull, is a smart miss, if appearances do riot prove deceptive. Messrs. Headley, Lyne, Piatt, Carr and Clienault and a couple of invited guests for each Avere occupants of the coach and, judging from the amount of lunch they. put aboard, they are intending to. do little other than eat and sleep all the Avay to Saratoga.; Sheriff Toin.
