I YEARLINGS BY STAR SHOOT AND UNCLE Experts Select Ten Best Ropresentativas of Each Sire ih th Headley Band. Lexington, Ky August C. In order to get the bencllt of their criticism and Judgment and at the same time to nfford them an opportunity to see the big string of yearlings which shipped Saturday to Saratoga to be sold next Friday, August 10, Hal Price Headley last week had several of his friends out to Beaumont Farm. Among them were Col. Milton AVoung, a long- time turfman, former owner of IcGrathiana Stud and twice a member of the Kentucky State Racing Commission: Sanford C. Lyne, G. D. Wilson, John D. Carr, Thomas Piatt, Lucas and Brownell Combs, S. C. Nuckols, J. W. Parrish and J. Claude Kogers. It was the concensus of opinion that the get of Uncle are, on the whole, a better appearing collection than are the colts and fillies by his illustrious sire Star Shoot, though the get of this premier are for the greater portion of medium size and attractive. It seemed a hard matter to determine which may be the ten best by Uncle and the ten best by Star Shoot, but eventually it worked out about like this, though the publics judgment when they go under George Bains hammer in the Fasig-Tipton Companys new arena at the Spa Thursday may prove to be somewhat different. Ten by Uncle Busy Lass colt half-brother to Korfhage; Claudia colt half-brother to Prince of Como and Battle; Planutess filly sister to Tracksend: Star Dreamer colt half-brother to Spectre: Ferrol colt half-brother to Fountain-blue; Ollie Belle colt half-brother to Beaucoup; Xethersole colt half-brother to Bulse and Manager Mack;St. Ursula colt half-brother to Sister Florence; Princess Orna colt brother to War Machine and half-brother to Ticket, and Ruby Nethersole colt half-brother to Miss Puzzle and Quin. Mamie Worth Colt a Picture Horse. Then by Star Shoot Miss Kearney colt brother to Tripplo Crowta and half-brother to Eagle; Plaster colt grandson of Courtplaster ; Flora Pomona colt brother to Mary Powell; Mamie Worth colt brother to Starwort and half-brother to Fort AA orth : Little Buttercup filly half-sister to Man-okin; Dorothy Hampton colt half brother to Har-rigan and Hampton Court; Sweet Marjoram filly half sister to Bringhurst ; Courtplaster colt half-brother to Penobscot; .Taueta filly daughter of a Kentucky Oaks winner; Hold Girl colt brother to Hussy and half-brother to Amazon. It. was a toss-up as to whether or not The Ladv in Blue colt brother to Star Master should have been included in the first ten, but the difficulty about it was deciding which of three or four to throw out in order to let him in. The Ruby Nethersole colt, a handsome big horse, had the vote of the majority when it came down to selecting one to top the sale. The St. Ursula colt is a real good race horse if nothing goes wrong with him, which now doesnt seem at all likely. Mr. Headley likes the Star Dreamer colt, regardless of the fact that his hocks are not straight. "Hanovers head, as sure as we were born." commented Col. Young when the Busy Lass colt, which has been called Dan Rice, because of his unusual marking. The Dorothy Hampton colt is wonderfully made. Mamie Worths colt is the picture horse of the consignment. He is quick and will in all probability, win the first time ont. There arc a couple of "outlanders" in the string that are corking horses the Rey Hindoo Gracious Dame colt and Tim Payne Cheridah colt.
