DETROIT MEETING DECLARED. OFF St. Louis. Mo., September 3. Joseph A. Murphv announced today that it would be impossible to give the proposed meeting at Detroit next fall,."on ,ne-eouut of the shortage of cars, due to war conditions. He has hail the agents of the Wells Fargo Express Company anil the Wabash railroad, at work for ten days trying to get the necessary equipment. The total result was three cars promised ami those not certain. "I did not want to offer Detroit a meeting of less class than I am giving here," said Mr. Murphy, "and I have thought It lest to go over, until spring when conditions may be more settled."
