ISIDORE took the lead at once and, setting a fast pace all the way, responded gamely when challenged and, drawing clear in the last eighth, held his advantage gamely. COHN TASSEL raced next to the inner rail throughout and, finishing gamely under punishment, outstayed LEOCIIARES. The latter followed the leader closely under restraint to the quarter pest, then moved up rapidly, but tired when called on for a final effort. LUCIUS ran a good race. RUNES was always outpaced. SlOSSET. after being under stout restraint in the early running, raced the early leaders into defeat iu the Inst half mile and-drew away after taking the final jump. REDDEST displayed a good order of speed and held on gamely under punishment through the lasf eighth. DOUBLET followed the leader under restraint for the first turn of the field, but fenced badly at all the jumps and tired when put to a drive. LOCH EARN had no mishaps. ZELLWOOD was never prominent. MATINEE IDOL was always u forward contender and swerved badly when put under punishment, but finished gamely. ARRAH GO ON showed much speed in the early running and raced into the lead, but tired in the last eighth. BANTRY could never get to the leaders. STRAIGHT FORAVARD raced in nearest pursuit of the leader and, saving ground on the stretch turn, made a game effort through the homestretch, but tired badly in the last few strides.
