CURRENT NOTES OF THE TURF J. C. Cantrill, ridden by jockey Blacklock, won from Miss Menard in a half mile dash Thursday at the Allen County Fair at Lima, Ohio. The greatest fall meeting ever held at Latonia is foreshadowed by the remarkable entry list of 32S nominations to the five stake events offered by the Latonia Jockey Club. Joseph A. Murphy, who is conducting the ten day race meeting at Maxwelton Park, St. Iouis, is surely trying to please his patrons. Aside from furnishing band music daily, the genial manager lias introduced a number of male ami female singers, who render popular songs between the races. Two running races featured the card at the Pennyroyal Fair at Hopkinsvilie, Ky.. on Thursday. Dengro, the bad acting chestnut gelding owned by J. F. Gaffney, which has caused many a starter to wish the racer was back in the stable, won from EI Sabio and Jim .Tefferies at five-eighths of a mile. Altamaha won the seven-eighths of a mile dash from Jessie Light and Verena. Jockey W. Dale rode both winners.
