CURRENT NOTES OF THE TURF The difference in added money in the values of the Latonia Cup and the Louisville Cup is ,000. This stud is headed by the good sire The Picket and includes twelve mares, seven yearlings and seven sucklings, all the mares being with foal and the young things by The Picket. Judge Joseph A. Murphy has agreed to act as presiding judge at the Jefferson Fair Association meeting, which Avill begin at New Orleans, on Thanksgiving Day, and run to the first of the year. Jack Campbell, it is reliably reported will also be connected with the meeting in an of f cial capacity. Carl Ellwanger, assistant to Secretary n. P. Applegate, of the New Louisville Jockey Club, has been appointed racing secretary at the Kentucky State Fair, which opens in Louisville, September 10, and continues for six days. Running races Avill be given each day, and quite a few owners have signified their intention of taking part. There Avill be no betting in connection with the races. The horses comprising the AA-cstern division of the A. K. Macomber Stable, which Avill race in Kentucky in charge of Thomas Murphy, are Hesperus. The Cock, Fruit Cake, Verdant, Hollister, Fell Savoop, Sirocco,- Warr God, Choirmaster, Impetus, Narosla, William S. Culbiertsoh and Myrtle Gale. These will be shortly joined by Star Master, Hoop Spirt and War Baby, Avhich are uoav at Beaumont farm.
