GREEK SPORTSMAN BUYING LIBERALLY M. Varipati, the Greek gentleman who purchased twenty mares, the stallion Glenesky and eight yearlings at the recent Newmarket sales, is stated to be a likely buyer of the late John Hallicks establishment at Lambourne. Madame Varipati will, it is understood, race the youngsters and several two-year-old fillies in her own name, she being exceptionally keen on the sport. George A. Butchers, the Lewes trainer, has been appointed private trainer and manager of the stud.
