Great crowds of racing enthusiasts will journey to Belmont Park, the palatial home of the Westchester Racing Association, to witness the twenty-eighth running of the most coveted and most important two-year-old race of the year. The history of the Futurity, replete with luster and romance attached to no other stake in American racing, is familiar to all lovers of the thoroughbred. Its list of winners include the names of -such remarkable race horses as Proctor Knott, Morello, Domino, Ballyhoo Bey, Artful, Colin, Novelty and many others. While deploring the absence of Sun Briar and Lucullite from todays decision of the Futurity, a field of high-class youngsters will struggle for this rich turf prize and the winner will have earned the right to be included in the list with the stars of other days.
