MAXWELT0N PARK WELL PATRONIZED Daddy Holbert Takes the Feature Race with Ease Requiram a Winner. Maxwelton Park, September 7. Ladies Day at Maxwelton Park brousht out a large crowd to witness the sport. The card was made up of overnight races, a purse race at one mile was the feature. W. M. Holmes "furnished the winner in his three-year-old colt Daddy Holbert ridden by Crump. He followed the leaders close up until on the stretch turn, from where he moved up and won easily under a good ride. Requiram was well fancied by the talent for the fifth race and won as his rider pleased. After stealing away in the first quarter into a good lead the result was never in doubt. Tomorrow being getaway day, most of the horsemen here are making plans to ship away. N. V. Walsh shipped to Lexington with the racers of J. S. Ward and the number includes Rosewood, Dental. Berlin and Boreas. For Maryland the shippers are: B. B. Rice, G. L. Strang- and U. S. Wishard. Jockey H. Gray was suspended Thursday for the meeting. A rain shower visited the course after the last race and had the crowd waiting until it cleared.
