WOODTHRUSH, saved, in the early running and clear of interference, closed up1 gamely in the Inst eighth and wore the leader down in the final strides to win drawing clear. PADDY showed excellent speed in. racing into the lead, but swerved badly and tired when challenged. MOOSEIIEAD was badly cut off at the quarter post and tired when put under punishment. STRAIGHT FORWARD gained steadily and easily passed BASIL in the last eighth. Xlie latter ran well to tiie stretch and tired. THORN BLOOM ran a fast half. BALLY rushed into a long early lead, but cahiewide when rounding the turn into the homestretch and tired in the final eighth. DADDYS CHOICE lacked early speed, but finished witli a rush through the homestretch and easily-passed GARBAGE. The latter quit badly in the last eighth. HOLIDAY was always outpaced.
