DEATH OF NOTED ENGLISH RACING MAN John Godfrey, Long Spofforth, Yorkshire, well-known throughout this country and on the continent, in tlie horse world, died on August 18. He was chairman of the Wetherby District Council, chairman and treasurer of the Wetherby Steeplechase for thirty-eight years, and a director of the Southwell Steeplechase Company.
