BROAD ADDITIONS TO TIJUANA PLANT Sufficient Land Bought to Raise Hay and Oats for a Thousand Horses. In a letter just received from San Diego, Cal., Manager J. W. Coffroth says of affairs at Tijuana: "Am leaving San Diego for Reno today, having come from San Francisco here and spent three days looking over projected improvements at the track and those now going on. For the last month we have been laying out something like 2,600 trees, lawns, flower beds, palms and everything else to make a charming vista. Besides, have bought an additional 800 acres which, with 700 belonging to the association, will be sufficient to grow feed for 1,000 horses for more than 100 days. One thousand acres will be laid out in hay, insuring more than 1,000 tons, and 500 acres in oats, which will produce enough oats and straw for bedding for the number of horses above mentioned. . "At this date we have reservations already for 590 stalls. Everyone, is optimistic here and people look for San Diego to have the greatest winter in its history. Within a few miles of the town the Linda Vista Training Camp Is now being prepared to receive 40,000 soldiers during the next six weeks. Besides these, the forts and aviation field have an additional 15,000. It is expected that the families of more than half of these men will be here continually."
