SUN BRIAR COMING TO KENTUCKY Champion Two-hrear-Old to Be Pointed for Kentucky Derby W. S. Kilmers Racing Plans. New York. December 5. The horses of Willis Sharpe Kilmer are wintering at Binghainton, N. Y., at the excellently appointed farm. Sun Briar Court, named in honor of the champion two-year-old of the year and the largest money winner in one season on the American turf in the last seven years. It is said to be the intention of Mr. Kilmer to ship Sun Itriar and seven others to Churchill Downs about January 15. Sun Briar is to be pointed for the historic Kentucky Derby and will be trained by H. McDaniel, who so effectively handled the great colt during the racing of 1917. W. Knapp, who rode Sun Briar in all his big stake victories, has signed to ride for the atable, and J. Bell, the little Canadian, who rode so well at the recent Laurel meeting, will be the stables second jockey. W. McDaniel will report January 1. and take charge of the horses loft at the farm about twenty, which will be sent to one of the Long Island tracks the latter part of March to be got ready for the metropolitan meetings. Mr. Kilmer has twelve yearlings, all by Ogden. now at Churchill Downs and these will be shipped east at the close of the Louisville meetings, together with Sun Briar and other older horses. Sun Briar is reported to have grown and done remarkably well since coining to Binghainton earlv in September and stands fully 15.3 hands in heighth and weighs close to 1,100 pounds.- There are said to be some promising youngsters in the band of twenty-one yearlings now at the farm.
