ELR0D SPECIAL TO NEW ORLEANS Left Bowie Sunday with Big Consignment of Hdrses for Meetings in Crescent City. Baltimore, Md., December 5. The New Orleans shipment, comprising fourteen Arms Palace horse cars, left Bowie race track Sunday for the Crescent City. This shipment was under the direction of A. X. Elrod, who is the local agent for the Arms Palace Horse Car Co. The list of owners having horses on the special were: R. A. Smith, one car; W. A. Burttschell, two cars: .las. Arthur, two cars; Frank Herald, two ears; AV. Cahill, one car; J. A. Gibson, one car; also W. Oliver, six horses; Hyde Freeman, six; J. Mclhearson, four; R. P. Watts, four: F. Musanti, six; J. J. Furrell, Jr., four; Jack McDonald, two; Gene Lutz, three; J. S. Ownbey. four; .las. Hewitt, three; .las. Frayling, five: Jimmie Johnston, six; Willie Shields, four; Ruck Bressler, six; Kim Patterson, two; C. Bias-sack, two; C. W. Gasser, three; C. Caywood, one; E. Whallon, one; Minch Reynolds, one; T. E. Crist, one. Grant Hugh Browne will have about a car load and, perhaps, two to go forward in a few days. Most of this shipment went direct to the Fair Grounds, where they will use Elrods van service between the tracks. W. W. Lylcs, representative for the Havana track, will ship five cars by Arms Palace cars this week to Cuba. Will McDaniel will ship a car to Toronto, as will also Sol Minch, with a mixed car load leaviug-Bowie about Thursday. The shipping conditions are rather uncertain, owing to government movements. It took the New Orleans Special six hours to get off the W. B. and A. electric lines after leaving the Bowie track, but once on their way, they will roll along and should reach New Orleans by Wednesday at the latest.
