J. W. SCHORR HORSES SHIPPED SOUTH Trainer Taubcr Leaves Louisville with Eight Head Intended for Racing at New Orleans. Louisville. Ky., December 18. John Whalen, trainer of the stable of James W. Corrigan, which will be sold at auction January 15, has completed an inventory of the stables forty horses in training at Churchill Downs and is awaiting further instructions from Cleveland. It is said that for the present the horses will be allowed to remain at the local track, until a few days before the day of the sale. Mr. Whalen will leave for Ivew York in a few days, to spend Christmas with his family at Jamaica, L. I. ..... H. Webb, owner of a small stable at the Downs, has reconsidered his decision about shipping the horses to Hot Springs and has concluded to remain at the local course for the remainder of the winter. Among the horses he has here are the two-year-old Walter Brady and the mare Utelus, which was turned out last spring. He also has a number of promisinbg yearlings, which he recently purchased from Dick Williams. These are a bay colt, by Hilarious Agnes Brennan; chestnut colt, by Hilarious Ethel Scruggs, and a bay filly, by Martinet Whip Top. Lon Jones, owner of a breeding farm near this citv, has purchased from Dick Williams a chestnut fillv bv Martinet Sea Voyage. The youngster will be "kep"t at the Jones farm until the opening of the spring training season. In spite of his expressed purpose to await the advent of more favorable weather before shipping the Schorr stable to New Orleans, trainer Louis Tauber was compelled to forego his determination upon the receipt today of a telegram from owner Schorr, directing that the horses Iks shipped without further delay. Accordingly speedy arrangements were made and before nightfall the horses were well on their way to the Crescent City. The shipment embraced eight head and included the following: Harry Kelly, Butterscotch II., John W. Klein, Jay Bird. Jas. T. Clark, lima Schorr, Nib and Frank Burke. Three two-year-olds and one yearling were left at Douglas Park.
