BOUND FOR HAVRE DEGRACE Many Prominent Stables to Race at Harford Association Track Arrivals from Saratoga Expected ExpectedDaily Daily Crimper Back in inRacing Racing Condition Havre de Grace Mil September 3 William Garth with tlie stable of Capt Kal Parr U S A of Baltimore who is now somewhere in France lias arrived fioni Saratoga William Jennings with the Calumet Stable and Harry Kites with the runners of J E Griffith chairman of the Balti ¬ more County Kacing Commission have wired that they will arrive on Wednesday or Thursday and Kicliard P Carman lias ordered twenty stalls bedded down for Friday Xone of those horsemen will race at Bclmont Iark They will rest this week to the end that they may have their runners fresh and fit for the opening days racing of the Harfonl Agricultural and 1rceders Association on September 10 10The The Harford meeting which will usher in Mary ¬ land fall racing for 1918 will continue until October 1 and it will be followed by the meeting at Laurel Iark of the Maryland State Fair Corporation and meetings of the Maryland Jockey Club and the Southern Maryland Agricultural Association at Jimlifo and Bowie Stalls for upwards of 1000 Jjor sIiayc been bespoken at Havredo Gracaand already there are upwards of 400 at the track The colony will be reinforced from day to day through the next fortnight from Saratoga as the horsemen there are able to obtain transportation transportationThe The twoyearold Esquimau is about the most useful of the flat runners in the Parr stable but Hince Iiis arrival here Mr Garth has taken up the handicap horse Crimper which was turned out with i Itiid leg immediately after the Pimlico spring meeting Crimper ran aliout a paddock on the Garth farm in Virginia while the horses were racing about New York and Saratoga and he appears to be as sound as he ever was Crimpers racing here Will be part of his preparation for the coming re ¬ newals at Pimlico of the Pimlico Autumn Handi ¬ cap and the Bowie Cup Le Marsouin Kobert Oliver Captain Parr Shannon Itivcr and one or two other fencers of tlie Parr establishment have come back to Havre de Grace in liptop condition and they will help to make the steeplechasing here an attractive feature of the September meeting meetingTHE THE BROOK AMONG THE JUMPERS JUMPERSIn In tlie Griffith stable which Harry Kites is training is the best crosscountry horse that raced at Aijuediict and Saratoga in July and August The lorse in iuestioi is The Brook which Mr Griffith Ixmzlit early in July from Tim Donohne Since hs purchase by the Baltimore tiortsiiinu The Brook lias won four races The Brook is pretty sure to bu top weight in the steeplechase handicaps in which he will start here Tlie Brook is to be Mr Griffiths starter in the coming renewal of the 10000 Manly Memorial Steeplechase at Pimlico In addition to this brilliant jumper Mr Griffith has three or four coming threeyearold fencers among them Katie Canal and Ballast It is the intention of the Havre de Grace management to put a couple of jumping races on the falls pro ¬ gram for threeyearold fencers fencersWilliam William Jennings will surely bring back to Mary ¬ land the speedy twoyearold Be Frank and he hopes to have African Arrow and Joscfina Zaratc as well There is some doubt about African Arrow anil Josefina Zaratc These horses were taken from Jennings at Saratoga by civil process Grant Hugh Browne having shown tlie court of Saratoga County that the title of ownership of the person who sold the horses to Jennings employer Cornelius Gar ¬ rison was not clear The matter is still awaiting adjudication adjudicationBe Be Frank is another proposition It is probable indeed that before the season is finished he will have come to be regarded as a highclass two yearold Be Frank made a show of John San fords fast filly TuMaloosa at Saratoga only a couple of days before that daugiiter of Chuctannnda low ¬ ered the track record for five and onehalf fur ¬ longs to 101 Be Frank is of the family of the celebrated Maggie B B He is a gelding of high speed and smooth action and it looks much as though lie will go on He is a halfbrother of K T Wilsons good handicap horse Straightforward alu of Good Counsel and one or two other gootl perform
