JOHN SANFORD TO RETIRE FROM RACING By T L Dempsey DempseyBelmont Belmont Park X Y September 3 John Sauford the wellknown turfman of Amsterdam and owner of the famous Hurricaiia Stud is to retire from racing Mr Sanford reached u decision this afternoon to dispose by auction of all his horses in training in ¬ cluding twentynine jearlings reserving only of his extensive establishment the stallions broodmares and weanlings The yearlings will be sold Friday night September 13 by the FasigTipton Company at Dinlands Killing Academy and the horses in train ¬ ing will be offered for sale in the Belmont Park paddock Saturday September 14 immediately be ¬ fore the races There are twentythree horses including twoyearolds now in training that are to be disKis ii Of on Saturday the list being made up of Gnome ntf Tusculoosa Meteorite Tippity Witchit George Smith Bridesman Valerius Uex Achilles Scrub Lady Ynrucari Marciiesu II Da hinda Elected II Ground Swell Alphee La Belle Heleiie Padua Chalaoau Briaud Courcelleu Waw Leek and Slsnorile
