THE LATONIA JOCKEY CLUB DISTRIBUTED MORE MONEY AMONG THE HORSEMEN IN 1918 THAN ANY OTHER RACING ORGANIZATION In the important item of total money distributed in 191S by the various racing organizations, thij Lntonia Jockey Club maintained the leadership it gained in 1917, although giving less money on account of having fewer days of racing. Again the Saratoga Association was second, as it was the year before, but 1918 brought the Cuba -American Jockey Club up into the prominence of third place. Following in order came the Westchester Racing Association. Maryland Jockey Club and the Queens County Jockey Club, the six clubs named being all that gave more than 00,000 to winning owners. The bodies which disappeared from the racing map iu 1918, but carried on racing in 1917, distributed considerably more than a million dollars in the latter year.
