WILD PIGEONS STILL PROTECTED In the treaty with Canada, wild pigeons, the wood duck and the little brown sandhill cranes are to receive total protection for ten years. As a consequence there will be no open season on bandtailed pigeons or the other birds mentioned, despite the fact that the period of protection afforded by state-law has expired.
