GENERAL NEWS N0TES OF THE DAY WASHINGTON, D. C, January 7. A bill providing supervision and control of telephone, telegraph, cable and radio systems by the Interstate Commerce Commission was introduced in the Senate this afternoon by Senator Kellogg of Minnesota. The measure would give the commission ower to permit consolidation of telephone and telegraph companies and authority to control service and fix minimum and niaxhmun rates. The commission also would have power to control the issue of stocks, bonds and securities by the communication companies. WASHINGTON, I. C, January 7. General weather forecast: There will be snow flurries in the western lain region this afternoon, and ruiiu-in southeastern Illinois, otherwise generally fair weather is indicated for this forecast district during the next two days. The temperature will be somewhat lower in the eastern portion of the district tonight, but will rise Wednesday in the trans-Mississippi region. WASHINGTON. I. C, January 7. Enough railroads already exist to handle the nations entire business, according to Director General McAdoos annual report on operations, made public today. CHICAGO, III., January 7. As a mark of respect to the memory of ex-President Roosevelt, the Chicago Stock Exchange will close at 11:30 a. m. tomorrow.
