UNEXPECTED HORSES FIRST Thursday Nighterand Parrish Shock the Form Followers. Qbolus Defeats Harvest King Slowly Improving Track Brings Usual Crop of Surprises. NEW ORLEANS. L:i., January 30. Todays racing brought, in it wiike several pronounced fonn n nils rsiiults by racers which in recent former starts ww beaten off and today proved the easiest kind if winners. Particular offenders in tliis respect were Thursday Nighter, winner of tlie opening race at a Mile and a quarter, and Pnrrlsh, wliich scored in the final race on the card. Both were at lontr prices, a il l their victories seemingly did not benefit their connections. Other winners during the afternoon that meed in improved fashion over their recent essays were Obolus and J5Iuo Rock. The former was hacked confidently, but his victory was probably a lucky one, for had Buxton been a. bit more alert with Harvest Kins that racer would have been the victor. Lou? racing was provided patrons this aftemoon in conformity with Thursdays custom, and as ideal weather prevailed, an extra large attendance was on hand to view the sport. Trusty Is bnck in the stable of Will Perkins, that owner having secured the horse from McNnniara and Leigh. W. C. Wcnnt has sold Waterproof to J. O. Tal-bott.
