RACE HORSE CLIMBS UP STAIRWAY STAIRWAYH H Leader sent four horses from Newmarket on Sunday Siller Caxton Per Annum and Potiphar They arrived at Liverpool street at 830 p m and Leader found himself in a quandary as he could not get them any farther that night on their way to Gatwick and at 10 oclock he was walking about Whitechapcl trying to obtain stabling He yentnally secured accommodation for three in a livery yard but the question was what to do with Potiphar There was a loft above the stalls where the three oilier horses were and the only way to reach it was by stairs Necessity being the mother of invention the stairs were covered with moss litter and Potiphar was induced to go up There said leader afterward to my great surprise I found several other horses I have seen some things in my time but never have I seen a race liorse go upstairs before London Sportsman i
