GLOAMINGS RICH AND WINNING WAY SYDNEY N S AA Australia March 8 Gloam ¬ ing won three more races in the last ten days among them the Jackson Stakes weightforage and the AAanganui Guineas on senarate days of the Wanganui Jockey Club meeting Since his un ¬ lucky defeat by Desert Qold in the Taranaki Stakes in which Desert Gold was allowed three years and three pounds Gloaming has won on four occasions He did iiot run as a twoyearold and his record lip to date this season is thirteen wins and two seconds His first two starts were in Sydney and all Jiis others in New Zealand He was beaten by Sasanofin the Stead Memorial Stakes and as stated by Desert Gold in the Taranaki Stakes The races won by Gloaming are Sydney Tattersalls Chelmsford Stakes mile and rn eighth Australian Jockey Club Derby one mile and a half AVelling tbn Champion Stakes one mile and a quarter New Zealand Derby one mile and a half Auckland Islington Plate one mile Auckland Great Northern Derby one mile and a half AVellington Stakes fiveeighths Wellington Kelburn Plate half mile Egmont Stakes threequarters Egmont llaw ere Plate one mile AAangauui Jackson Stakes threequarter and AVanganui Guineas one mile In stakes alone Gloaming has won about 54000 not a bad return for the 1550 which G I Green ¬ wood gave for the colt as a yearling It will of course be recalled that in the year previous to securing Gloaming he made another lucky Aictorhi purchase Biplane to wit It is interesting to note that Mr Greenwood has taken the Jackson Stakes in five years out of the last six years lie won with Emperador in 1914 and 1915 with Bimeter in 1917 virh Biplane in 1918 and with Gloaming this year
